MEAT GOAT

Open to any contestant who is eligible to show in the El Paso County Fair (only meat goats are eligible to sale at the Livestock Auction)

All meat goats will be withered male kids or nanny kids, one (1) year or younger, and have all their milk teeth. No top weight.

Meat goats will be judged for meat quality.

Dehorned is preferred, if horned, must be tipped to not less than the diameter of a dime at the end. No tipping will be allowed on the grounds.

All goats will be groomed with no more than ¼” of hair over the entire body. Longer hair below the knees and hocks is acceptable.

Meat goats must be shown with a collar.

Show animals will be tagged by superintendent or the assistant at weigh-in unless the animal has a validation tag.

All exhibitors are responsible for daily care (feed and water) until the end of the show. Anyone caught leaving the animal uncared for will have a $25.00 a day charge from the El Paso County Fair.

The number of classes will be determined based on the number of animals checked in.
