El Paso County Fair 2014 Queen ~ Yessica Delgado

queen2014

Her motto for life is “Accomplish It.” Yessica Delgado, the 2014 El Paso County Fair Queen, is determined and committed to overcome obstacles and make her goals happen. She is the oldest daughter of Luis and Febe Delgado and sister of Stephanie Delgado. Born and raised in El Paso Yessica has always been active in her community, church and school activities. One of the most important things about Yessica is that she has always been compelled to understand her weaknesses, build upon them and strengthen herself to lead by example and reports that the harder the fall the greater the lesson. A future top graduate of Clint High School class of 2014, Yessica was an ideal FFA member, as she has served as reporter, treasurer and secretary, was involved in FFA Quiz, Radio Broadcasting, Public Relations, Horse Judging and Prepared Public Speaking. Yessica also participated in raising and showing swine and rabbits. In 2013, Yessica led the Rocky Mountain District FFA as the president and was awarded the Chapter Farmer at both the local and district level. Her achievements went beyond the FFA, Yessica was the 2014 CHS Student Council President, held various officer positions within her class organizations and National Honor Society, was active in One-Act Play, Computer Science and was a team member of the volleyball, softball, track field events and still being a peer tutor to students in the lower level academics.

Often cramming every activity into a moment and working to mere exhaustion, Yessica has the heart of a warrior and works hard to be the absolute best at everything she does. In August of 2015, Yessica will be attending college and will work her way to Medical School where she hopes to graduate with an OBGYN degree making her parents proud. Yessica likes to think of herself as a small town girl who will prove all her obstructions along her path wrong and wishes to someday financially help girls that like her were determined workers and sought a higher education.
